Meet Dr. Tory Prestera
Dr. Tory Prestera is a board-certified ophthalmologist dedicated to delivering advanced, patient-centered eye care. He earned his medical and PhD degrees in biochemistry and pharmacology from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, after completing his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Prestera went on to complete his residency in ophthalmic surgery at the University of Southern California and a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute.
With over two decades of experience and more than 20,000 cataract, retinal, and glaucoma laser surgeries performed, Dr. Prestera provides exceptional expertise in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, retinal disease treatment, diabetic eye care, and pterygium surgery. He is affiliated with Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, Premiere Surgery Center in Escondido, and Outpatient Surgery of Del Mar.
Meet Dr. Howard Guan
Dr. Howard Guan is a glaucoma specialist committed to providing advanced, personalized care for patients with a wide range of eye conditions. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Irvine, graduating cum laude, and went on to receive his medical degree from Loma Linda University. Dr. Guan completed his internship at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center and a glaucoma fellowship at Boston University.
In addition to his clinical expertise in glaucoma management, cataract and eye trauma surgery, dry eye treatment, and retinal disease care, Dr. Guan has an extensive background in ophthalmic research and education. He has been honored with multiple teaching awards from the Loma Linda University Eye Institute and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
